New Day Vitality donates equipment to Uppercut Boxing of Maryland
Recently, New Day Vitality donated boxing equipment to Uppercut Boxing of Maryland, a non-profit community center in Baltimore, where our Medical Technician Erich Jessup is a volunteer.
Erich has been working out and teaching boxing at Uppercut since it opened in May 2016. “Boxing teaches discipline and takes hard work,” says Erich. At the gym, Erich sees kids making new friends and building self-esteem.
“Boxing gives the kids a chance to blow off some steam in a controlled and positive way,” says Erich. “We stress that it’s never to be used for aggression. It’s all about control, discipline and fitness.”
Founded in 2016 to fulfill the wish of a deceased community member, Uppercut Boxing of Maryland offers personal and group training sessions. The next goal for the non-profit is to add after-school programs for neighborhood children.
