Spot the Difference: Dynamic vs. Static Wrinkles

How much do you really know about wrinkles?

Wrinkle: a slim line or crease in the skin, typically appearing on one’s face.

Dynamic: By definition, dynamic means constant change, activity, or progress. Dynamic wrinkles are caused by movement of the face otherwise known as facial expressions. As the muscles in your face move around with different expressions, different lines become prominent in your face. With young skin, the lines are able to spring away, but with age, the lines stay and become static wrinkles.

Static: Static is the lack of movement, action, or change. Once wrinkles become static, they can be viewed even if no facial expression is being made. As we age, the natural substances (collagen, elastin, hyaluronic acid) in our skin, that create structure, decrease.
